Why is CarboFLD™ strategic for the cement and construction industries?

Cement and concrete production is a significant contributor to global emissions. While concrete can be made greener and replaced in some applications, a portion of its emissions will still need to be offset through carbon storage solutions. Moreover, concrete consumption is expected to grow substantially in the coming decades. Our carbon-negative CarboFLD™ product line provides a drop-in technology that can play a crucial role in reducing residual emissions that are difficult to address with other methods.

What are CarboFLD™ advantages compared to other carbon-capture technologies?

Our technology takes advantage of the photosynthetic process and thermomechanical chemistry to effectively convert atmospheric CO2 into a stable and useful form of solid carbon capable of removing the equivalent of 2.5 times its weight of CO2. The amount of CO2 being captured is therefore measurable and easy to trace. When turned into CarboFLD™, atmospheric CO2 is not simply easy to store but also provides a remarkable renewable ingredient that can further contribute to decarbonization by replacing fossil resources and other carbon-positive traditional materials.
